Description

Chewy and soft cookies infused with cinnamon and cocoa powder, rolled in powdered sugar for a sweet, snowy appearance.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, melted butter, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, ground cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough and roll them into balls, then roll in powdered sugar.
  8. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough to help the cookies keep their shape while baking. Roll in powdered sugar again after cooling for a thicker layer.
