Description

Learn how to make a classic club sandwich with layers of turkey, crispy bacon, and fresh vegetables, combined with a creamy mayo spread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices of bread (white or whole grain)
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon
  • 1 cup of cooked turkey or chicken, sliced
  • 1 cup of lettuce leaves (romaine or iceberg)
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: cheese slices (cheddar or Swiss)
  • Optional: avocado slices

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  2. Drain the bacon on paper towels.
  3. Slice leftover turkey or prepare deli turkey as needed.
  4. Rinse and dry the lettuce leaves.
  5. Slice the tomatoes into even rounds.
  6. Mix mayonnaise with a pinch of salt and pepper in a small bowl.
  7. Toast the bread until golden brown.
  8. Take three slices of toast and spread mayo on one side of each.
  9. On the first slice, add half the lettuce, half the turkey, two tomato slices, and two bacon pieces.
  10. Top with the second slice, mayo side down, then spread mayo on top.
  11. Add the rest of the turkey, lettuce, tomato, and bacon. Add cheese or avocado if using.
  12. Top with the third slice, mayo side down, and press gently.
  13. Secure corners with toothpicks if needed.
  14. Cut the sandwich diagonally into quarters and arrange on a plate.
  15. Serve with chips, pickles, or a small salad.

Notes

Toast the bread well to prevent sogginess. Use firm tomatoes and dry lettuce. Fry bacon until it is crisp but not burnt. Spread the mayo thinly and evenly. If you use cheese, add it between warm layers so it melts slightly.
