Description

Delicious and bright truffles made with dark chocolate and fresh lemon, perfect for a quick sweet treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cocoa powder or crushed nuts for coating

Instructions

  1. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
  2. Remove the pan from heat and add the dark chocolate chips.
  3. Stir the chocolate and cream until the mix is smooth and fully melted.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mix is even.
  5. Let the mix cool to room temperature.
  6. Put the mix in the fridge for about 60 minutes until it firms up.
  7. Use a melon baller or spoon to scoop small portions of the firm mix.
  8. Roll each portion into a neat ball with your hands.
  9. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or crushed nuts to coat.
  10. Place the truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  11. Chill the tray in the fridge until the truffles are firm.
  12. Serve the truffles cold and enjoy.

Notes

For a lighter version, reduce the sugar or use a lighter cream substitute. Keep chilled until serving for best texture.
