Description
This simple recipe for Crispy Feta Fried Eggs will completely change your breakfast routine. With lacy, golden-brown feta cheese, perfectly runny yolks, and a sprinkle of fresh herbs, it’s a dish that feels special enough for brunch but is quick enough for any busy morning.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or butter)
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
- Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Heat a nonstick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Sprinkle crumbled feta into the hot pan to form a light layer and let it sizzle for 1–2 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Gently crack the eggs on top of the sizzling feta and cook for 3–4 minutes until the whites are set and the yolks are runny.
- For firmer yolks, cover the pan for the last minute of cooking.
- Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, chopped herbs, salt, and black pepper.
- Slide the crispy feta fried eggs onto a plate and serve immediately.
Notes
Use feta from a block rather than pre-crumbled for the crispiest results. Make sure the pan is hot enough before adding the cheese for the perfect golden crust.
