Description

A delightful dish featuring crunchy chicken breasts coated in Panko breadcrumbs and topped with a rich garlic cream sauce.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. In a shallow dish, place flour and season with salt and pepper.
  4. In another dish, whisk eggs and water together.
  5. In a third dish, mix Panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning.
  6. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess.
  7. Dip chicken in egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  8. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  9. Add chicken breasts and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  10. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  11. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  12. Add garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  13. Stir in flour and cook for another minute.
  14. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and cream.
  15. Cook, whisking continuously, until sauce is smooth and thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  16. Remove sauce from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  17. Season sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
  18. Remove chicken from the oven and serve topped with garlic cream sauce.
  19. Garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For a lighter version, air-fry the chicken and substitute Greek yogurt for the heavy cream. Avoid overcrowding the pan for crispy chicken.
