Description

Delicious meatballs made in a crockpot, infused with the savory flavors of French onion soup.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs.
  3. Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix beef broth and French onion soup mix.
  5. Pour the broth mixture over the onions.
  6. Place the meatballs on top of the broth and onions.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 360-480 minutes or on high for 180-240 minutes, until meatballs are cooked through.
  8. Serve with a sprinkle of parsley.

Notes

For a lighter option, use lean ground turkey or chicken. Add chopped spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
