Ingredients

  • 1 package phyllo dough
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pistachios
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
  3. Fold in the chopped nuts.
  4. Layer sheets of phyllo dough on a baking sheet, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the phyllo layers.
  6. Roll or fold the phyllo dough over the filling, brushing the top with more butter.
  7. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Once out of the oven, drizzle honey over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before slicing into pieces and serving.
