- 1 package phyllo dough
- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pistachios
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- Cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped nuts.
- Layer sheets of phyllo dough on a baking sheet, brushing each layer with melted butter.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the phyllo layers.
- Roll or fold the phyllo dough over the filling, brushing the top with more butter.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Once out of the oven, drizzle honey over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing into pieces and serving.
Notes
Make sure to brush the phyllo dough with melted butter for a crispy texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
