Description

A warm and comforting dessert bringing together the rich flavors of eggnog, spices, and moist bread, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of bread cubes
  • 2 cups of eggnog
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In the greased baking dish, combine the bread cubes and pour the eggnog mixture over them, pressing the bread to soak fully.
  4. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes to absorb the mixture.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until set and golden brown on top.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, use whole grain bread and low-fat or dairy-free eggnog. Adding fresh fruits like berries or bananas enhances freshness.
