Description

Delicious homemade French Chocolate Truffles perfect for indulging yourself or gifting to others.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz high-quality dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place it in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for a minute, then stir until smooth and fully combined.
  4. Allow the mixture to cool at room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until firm, about 120 minutes.
  5. Once firm, use a melon baller or your hands to scoop out small amounts of the chocolate mixture and roll them into balls.
  6. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder to coat.
  7. Place the truffles in a box or on a platter for gifting or enjoy immediately.

Notes

For lighter versions, reduce cream and add yogurt, or mix in raspberry powder or espresso for added flavors. Store truffles in a single layer with parchment between layers for freshness.
