Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Optional: Sliced tomatoes or crispy bacon

Instructions

  1. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half without cutting all the way through.
  2. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and butter the insides of each roll.
  3. Place the bottom halves of the rolls on the skillet and fill generously with cheese.
  4. Press down slightly with the top halves.
  5. Grill until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes per side, flipping carefully.
  6. Once both sides are crispy and cheese is melted, remove from heat.
  7. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

Add baby spinach or thin apple slices for a fresh twist. Serve with a light salad or tomato soup.
