Description

A rich, creamy chocolate cake with a luscious peanut butter filling and a decadent ganache topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (prepared according to package instructions)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • ½ cup crushed peanuts
  • Optional: Chocolate bars or peanut butter cups for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare cake batter and bake in two 8-inch pans.
  2. Let the cakes cool completely.
  3. Beat cream cheese until smooth.
  4. Mix in peanut butter and powdered sugar until creamy.
  5. Place one cake layer on a plate.
  6. Spread the peanut butter filling over the first layer.
  7. Place the second cake layer on top.
  8. Heat heavy cream until it simmers.
  9. Pour cream over chopped chocolate and wait 5 minutes.
  10. Stir ganache until smooth and glossy.
  11. Pour ganache over the cake and let it drip down the sides.
  12. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  13. Sprinkle crushed peanuts on top.
  14. Add chocolate bars or peanut butter cups if you wish.
  15. Chill the cake for at least 1 hour before slicing.

Notes

Cool the cakes fully before filling. If the cakes are warm, the filling will slide. Let the ganache cool slightly so it thickens but stays pourable.
