Description

Delicious homemade Twinkies filled with sweet cream, perfect for parties or a special treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a Twinkie pan or use a muffin tin.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
  5. Stir in vanilla.
  6. Gradually add the flour mix, alternating with milk, until just combined.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan, filling each compartment about two thirds full.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for a few minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool fully.
  10. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until fluffy.
  11. Use a piping bag to fill each sponge cake with the vanilla cream.
  12. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

Make sure to check your oven temp and avoid overmixing the batter for best results. Can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
