Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
  3. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  4. Add chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides.
  5. Remove chicken and set aside on a plate.
  6. In the same skillet, whisk in flour until smooth.
  7. Gradually add chicken broth and milk, stirring continuously until thickened.
  8. Return chicken to the skillet and simmer for about 20 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Serve the chicken with gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

For a healthier option, use skinless chicken breasts and low-fat milk. You can also add chopped herbs and vegetables for extra flavor.
