A sticky, sweet, and savory dinner featuring crispy chicken and flavorful garlic potatoes.
Ingredients

- 4–6 chicken thighs or breasts (skin-on for extra crispiness)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for searing)
- ⅓ cup honey
- ½ cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1.5 pounds baby potatoes or Yukon Gold potatoes, washed and halved
- 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and halve the potatoes for even roasting.
- Toss the potatoes with 2 tablespoons olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon smoked paprika.
- Spread potatoes on a baking sheet with space between pieces to crisp.
- Pat the chicken dry and season with salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon smoked paprika.
- Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken skin-side down until golden brown to lock in juices.
- Flip chicken and sear the other side for a short minute.
- Whisk honey and ½ cup BBQ sauce in a small bowl to make the glaze.
- Transfer seared chicken to the baking sheet with the potatoes.
- Brush the honey BBQ glaze generously over each piece of chicken.
- Roast the tray at 400°F (200°C) for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Check chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) with a meat thermometer.
- Roast until potatoes are tender and edges are golden.
- Brush another layer of glaze onto chicken during the last 5 minutes of roasting.
- Let the tray rest for a few minutes after it comes out of the oven.
- Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the chicken and potatoes before serving.
Notes
For less sugar, swap half the honey for pureed apple and use low sugar BBQ sauce. Cool leftovers to room temperature and store in an airtight container.
