  • Author: Sarah
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Hot Italian Sub Sliders are loaded with layers of savory deli meats, melty cheeses, and tangy banana peppers on soft garlic-buttered rolls. Perfect for parties, game day, or family dinners, they’re a crowd-pleasing twist on the classic Italian sub.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider rolls (Hawaiian rolls work well)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 oz turkey salami, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz chicken pepperoni or turkey pepperoni
  • 8 oz smoked turkey or roast beef, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup sliced banana peppers, drained
  • 1 medium tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 small red onion, very thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan
  • Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper. Slice the slab of slider rolls in half horizontally without separating.
  2. Whisk olive oil, apple cider vinegar, oregano, garlic powder, and black pepper. Brush evenly over cut sides of rolls.
  3. Layer provolone, turkey salami, pepperoni, and smoked turkey or roast beef on the bottom half. Top with mozzarella, banana peppers, tomato slices, onion, and parsley.
  4. Place top half of rolls back on. Mix melted butter, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, Parmesan, and red pepper flakes. Brush over tops of rolls.
  5. Cover pan with foil and bake 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake 6–8 minutes more until cheese is bubbly and tops are golden brown.
  6. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing into 12 sliders. Serve warm with optional extra banana peppers or marinara.

Notes

Drain banana peppers and pat tomato slices dry to avoid soggy buns. Covering with foil ensures melted cheese without burning tops. Let sliders rest before slicing so they hold together better.
