  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. For the icing, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the icing over the cooled cookies and let set before serving.
