- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 pound chicken breast, cubed
- 2 tablespoons shawarma spice blend
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Yogurt sauce for topping (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Cook the chopped onion until soft and translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for one minute.
- Add the cubed chicken and shawarma spice and brown the chicken.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Stir in the cooked rice, lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve with yogurt sauce and sprinkle chopped parsley on top.
Notes
For best results, use rice that is a day old. You can swap chicken for turkey or vegetables for a meatless option.
