- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup white chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Stir in the red food coloring and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the white chocolate chunks.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set but still soft.
- Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For a healthier version, substitute whole wheat flour and reduce sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
