Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (such as cheddar)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish, then sprinkle with a layer of cheese and garlic.
- Pour half of the heavy cream and milk mixture over the potatoes. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Repeat layers with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and cream mixture.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a healthy twist, consider low-fat cheese or adding steamed vegetables. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
