  • 1 cup strawberry simple syrup
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease the pans.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar until light.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix well.
  4. Stir in vanilla and milk.
  5. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  6. Gradually add dry mix to the wet mix and combine.
  7. Divide the batter into the prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until a toothpick is clean.
  9. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes then move to a rack.
  10. Brush each cooled layer with strawberry syrup.
  11. Whip the cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  12. Layer cake with whipped cream and sliced strawberries.
  13. Frost the top and sides with the remaining whipped cream.
  14. Decorate with extra strawberries and chill before serving.
