Description

Delightful orange chocolate truffles that bring joy during the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cocoa powder for rolling
  • Chopped nuts or sprinkles for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
  2. Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Refrigerate the mixture for about 1 hour, until it’s firm enough to handle.
  5. Once cooled, scoop the mixture using a melon baller or teaspoon and roll it into balls.
  6. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or garnish with chopped nuts or sprinkles as desired.
  7. Place the truffles in an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For a healthier twist, use dark chocolate with a higher cocoa percentage. They can be made ahead of time and will last about a week in the fridge.
