- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cocoa powder for rolling
- Chopped nuts or sprinkles for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate chips, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Stir in the orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Refrigerate the mixture for about 1 hour, until it’s firm enough to handle.
- Once cooled, scoop the mixture using a melon baller or teaspoon and roll it into balls.
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or garnish with chopped nuts or sprinkles as desired.
- Place the truffles in an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
For a healthier twist, use dark chocolate with a higher cocoa percentage. They can be made ahead of time and will last about a week in the fridge.
