- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add dry mix to wet mix until just combined.
- Scoop dough onto the prepared sheet and leave space between cookies.
- Make a small indent in each cookie for the caramel.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes until edges are light gold and centers still soft.
- Cool cookies slightly on the sheet before adding caramel.
- Fill each indent with caramel sauce.
- Melt chocolate chips until smooth and drizzle over each cookie.
- Let the chocolate set before serving.
Notes
For a healthier variation, substitute half the butter with unsweetened applesauce and use dark chocolate for more flavor. Ensure not to overmix once the flour is added.
