Instructions
- Warm the milk and stir in the yeast until it dissolves, then let it sit until frothy.
- Mix the flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
- Add the melted butter, apple butter, egg, and yeast mixture to the dry mix and stir until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise until doubled.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread a layer of apple butter over the rolled dough.
- Scatter the diced apples evenly over the apple butter.
- Roll the dough up tightly from one long side to form a log.
- Slice the log into rolls using a sharp knife or clean floss.
- Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet with space between each one.
- Let the rolls rise on the sheet for about 30 minutes.
- Bake the rolls until they turn golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Let the rolls cool slightly and drizzle icing or glaze if you wish.
