Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Cut the cauliflower into thick slices, about 1 inch wide to create steaks.
  3. Brush both sides of the cauliflower steaks with olive oil and season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and tender.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the cauliflower steaks.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve immediately.
