Description

A delightful Cinnamon Sugar Cobbler that’s simple to prepare and perfect for family gatherings, best served warm with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/4 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Arrange a rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees.
  2. Pour melted butter into the bottom of the baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add milk and vanilla extract, whisking until combined (a few lumps are okay).
  5. Gently spoon the batter over the melted butter, trying not to mix the two together.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  7. Pour the sugar mixture evenly over the batter.
  8. Slowly pour hot water over the sugar mixture.
  9. Bake the cobbler until golden and puffed, about 30 to 35 minutes.
  10. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a healthier twist, use whole wheat flour or reduce sugar. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
