Description

A comforting and family-favorite meal made easy in a slow cooker, featuring tender chicken, fluffy dumplings, and flavorful veggies.


Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 can of cream of chicken soup
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 can of biscuit dough
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Layer the onion, carrot, garlic, and seasoned chicken in the slow cooker.
  2. Top with soup, thyme, and water.
  3. Cook on High until the chicken is cooked through.
  4. Remove the herbs and shred the chicken.
  5. Stir in celery and peas.
  6. Slice the biscuits in half and place on top of the chicken mixture.
  7. Add pepper to taste.
  8. Cook on High for 3 more hours, stirring once every half hour, and serve.

Notes

For a healthier twist, use whole-wheat biscuit dough and add extra vegetables. Adjust the seasonings to taste before serving.
