Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  2. Whisk the flour and baking soda in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Cream the softened butter with the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla and eggs until the mix looks even.
  5. Slowly add the dry mix to the wet mix and blend until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for nine to eleven minutes until the edges turn golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the sheets for two minutes, then move them to a wire rack to cool fully.

Notes

For a healthier twist, try half whole wheat flour or swap half the butter for unsweetened apple sauce.
