Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Spread the cheesecake mixture on 4 slices of bread.
  3. Top the cream cheese spread with sliced strawberries.
  4. Place the remaining bread slices on top to form sandwiches.
  5. Set up a breading station: put flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
  6. Dip each sandwich first in the flour, then in the eggs, and finally in the breadcrumbs until coated.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Fry the sandwiches until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  9. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

These sandwiches are best served warm. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with chocolate sauce for an extra treat.
