Description

A quick and easy sesame chicken recipe that balances sweetness and savory flavors, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups frozen breaded chicken
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp. rice wine vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. light brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare chicken according to package instructions. Cover chicken tightly to keep warm.
  2. Make the honey sauce: In a small pan over medium heat, combine all remaining ingredients except sesame seeds.
  3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  4. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Pour sauce over warm chicken and toss to fully coat.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with your favorite steamed vegetable and grain.

Notes

For a healthier option, swap the frozen breaded chicken for grilled chicken breasts or thighs. You can add broccoli or snap peas into the sauce for extra veggies.
